Product Description:
This is a diuretic, a type of drug that promotes urination.Indications for Use: Furosemide is used in cases of general fluid retention and in some heart and kidney conditions.
Dosage and Administration: Give 0.1 mL per 10 lbs., IV or IM. This product can also be given as a tablet at the dose of 1 (12.5 mg) tablet per 10 lbs. This dose can be given orally once or twice a day.
Packaging: This drug is available in 30, 50, and 100 mL bottles or in 12.5 and 50 mg tablets. The injectable furosemide comes in a 50 mg/mL concentration.
Precautions and Side Effects: Because this drug causes water loss, caution should be taken to ensure that the animal remains hydrated. If signs of weakness, sunken eyes, or fatigue occur, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian. See page B115 for information on checking hydration.
Storage: This product requires no refrigeration.
