Product Description: This is a vaccine for the prevention of Clostridium perfringens type D, Clostridium tetani, and Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis (caseous lymphadenitis).
Not approved for use in goats. Refer to extra-label drug use.
Dosage and Administration: Give 2 mLs subcutaneously (SQ) behind the point of the elbow in the axillary region. In most cases, the first vaccination can be given at 3-4 months of age in animals where the mother has previously been vaccinated. In lambs/kids from mothers that have not been previously vaccinated, a first dose should be given at 1-3 weeks of age. This dose should be repeated in all young animals 4 weeks later in the opposite axillary region. Thereafter, a booster shot should be given annually about 6-8 weeks before the lambing/kidding season.
Packaging: This product comes in 10 and 50 dose bottles. Shake well prior to use.
Precautions and Side Effects: Some vaccines may cause the formation of a sterile granuloma (mass) at the injection site. This granuloma may persist for many years. Use of some vaccines can occasionally induce a fever of 1-2 days duration as well as other side effects. Some vaccines can cause significant problems in goats already infected with CLA and should be used with caution. Allergic reactions are also a possibility.
Storage and Shelf Life: This vaccine must be refrigerated prior to use.
Meat Withholding: 21 days in sheep.
