Foalcheck®

Product Description: This test determines IgG levels in foals.

Indications for Use: This test measures immunoglobulin (IgG) levels in newborn foals. Immunoglobulins are passed from the mother to the nursing foal in the colostrum. Low levels of immunoglobulins can cause the foal to be very susceptible to infectious diseases.

Test Procedures: Either whole blood or serum may be used for the test.  For accurate results, follow the directions contained with the test kit.

Test Interpretations: The following immunoglobulin levels are indicators of passive transfer:

>200 mg/dl- failure of passive transfer.
200 mg-400 mg/dl- partial failure of passive transfer.
>400-800 mg/dl- adequate transfer.

Packaging: This product comes in 10 and 24 kits per package.
