Today® (Cephapirin Sodium)


Product Description: This is an intramammary antibiotic effective against gram positive organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus agalactiae.

Indications for Use: This is an intramammary treatment for clinical and subclinical mastitis. A specific diagnosis of what is causing the mastitis should be based on clinical signs and culture and sensitivity.

Dosage and Administration: Before injection, milk udder completely, wash udder and teats thoroughly and use an alcohol swab on teat end. Infuse the contents of 1 syringe into each infected quarter and repeat in 12 hours.  After injection, gently massage the quarter and do not milk for 12 hours.

Packaging: This product comes in packages of 1 or 12, 10 mL syringes.

Precautions and Side Effects: Today should be used in lactating cows only. Allergic reactions are also a possibility.

Storage: Store at room temperature 59-86°F and avoid excessive heat.

Milk Withholding: 96 hours after last treatment.

Meat Withholding: 4 days after last treatment.
